Paul Loubere, Napoleon, Bas ArmagnacAlain Loubre is a very old friend. We met some thirty years ago when he was still playing rugby (he was a French trialist) and fighting cows! He has now returned to Labastide in the heart of Armagnac where he distills for his own property and friends (payment is in kind). This is fine Armagnac indeed.

Wild yeast fermentation is key to this Chenin Blanc

The texture is creamy and full bodied with well balanced acidity and plenty of bubbles

and in 2018 his ‘hobby’ started to gain serious traction

Strikingly smooth to taste and beautiful to behold in its iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle

which are vinified in stainless steel and bottled unfined and unfiltered
