Absolutely amazing and iconic vintage Giorgio di Sant'Angelo piece from the Spring/Summer 1971 'Summer of Jane and Cinderella' collection. These pieces are highly collectible and typically held in museums - in fact, this exact same design also resides at the V&A, aqs well as many similar at the Met Costume Institute. A similar design can also be seen in the film Cleopatra Jones. This piece embodies the best of Sant'Angelo and is a great example of all of his favorite design elements colliding. An early pioneer of the use of lycra/stretch fabrics, this phenomenal piece features a colorblock leotard/bodysuit with a plunging neckline, long sleeves and a snap closure at the crotch. Sewn into the waist are varying, unique, intentionally frayed and tattered strips of both floral and solid color chiffon, creating the illusion of wearing a dress. Channel your inner Veruschka whenever you wish in this saucy number!
