Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche Fly Reel 6/0For sale here is an Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche reel size 6 0. Reel is in excellent condition throughout. Made in 1911. This reel carries the 1883 patent "Edw. Vom Hofe NY" marked oil cap, and has a strong click and fully functional adjustable drag with still bright red indicator dots on the winding plate. Comes with the original Vom Hofe leather reel case that has been through a bit of repair over the years.
There are some very minor silk line burns in the usual location
with the Dry tip
Ritz/Full-wells style grip is only lightly soiled
Chestnut colored flamed and tempered bamboo with a hand-pressed Payne-style node pattern
V400 serial number on the foot dating the reel to 1929
It features green olive main wraps with brown olive intermediates and red edges to the wraps and ferrules
with a nice target turned into the bottom cap
