Beasley, Jim - Leonard 50DF 8'0 3/2 5wt Bamboo RodFor sale here is a classic Leonard 50DF taper rod, built by Jim Beasley. Built in 1994, owned by country singer Dan Seals. Dan broke the mid, it was repaired by Wes Cooper (scarf). The rod was sent to Steve Blake to undo what Wes had done. Steve had a new mid done. Installed Leonard (early post fire) ferrules and made a Leonard style reel seat with a nicely figured butternut insert. Steve wrapped the mid (perfect match) and straightened the sections.

A truly flawless handmade reel

Great attention has been paid to the contour detail of the palming rim

it appears the cap from the reel seat was moved at one point

For sale here is a 1915 edition of the Hardy`s Anglers' guide

Petite cigar grip measuring 4 3/4" with moderate soiling and light ridging

The seat is void of any major scratch or dent

Full-range drag adjustment knob

I had Bob Summers fill in an exposed glue line with epoxy on the butt section and apply a new layer of varnish

The varnish on this rod is magnificent with no bag marks or other signs of wear
