Lot 034 - Antique U.S. Socket Bayonet With "Us" Tang Stamp And Cylindrical Socket, Inconclusive Model/Authenticity, 19-1/2" LAntique socket bayonet bearing a clear "US" stamp near the tang. Features a long blade with a single fuller and a cylindrical socket showing a clean rectangular lug slot on one side and a small driven rivet stud on the opposite side. The tang is formed into the socket in a factory style joint rather than a crude repair. As found, the piece appears complete and the rectangular slot and rivet are consistent with typical socket bayonet mounting details
The springs are operating nicely
but are very securely attached and not in danger of breaking or falling off
including some water damage
