hangeroc edda redThe hangeroc is a type of dress that was worn by Vikings and other early medieval peoples over a slip dress. The hangeroc was originally worn with turtle brooches, to fasten the front to the shoulders. The shoulder part was often much longer and shield brooches were used to lift up the front fabric just above the breasts. Most modern hangeroc reproductions are already the correct length, so turtle brooches are often not needed for practical purposes.
